OBSERVE
What to look for
- A visible separation between neighbouring steps
- A neutral gray without red, green or blue tint
- Smooth gradients without abrupt bands or blotches
INTERPRET
How to read the result
Missing dark steps can indicate black crush; merged bright steps can indicate white clipping. A repeated tint may come from the display mode, viewing angle or panel uniformity.
