Pure #000000 with no overlays, compression or glow.
Dead pixel test
Cycle exact solid colours to find faulty subpixels.
Grayscale
Inspect neutral tones, shadow detail and highlights.
Color banding
Reveal posterisation in smooth light and dark gradients.
Screen uniformity
Spot dirty-screen effect, tinting and uneven light.
Contrast detail
Separate levels close to black and close to white.
Sharpness & geometry
Check scaling, overscan, lines and one-pixel detail.
